Removing AOL
One of the issues with AOL is that it stores information in different places on your hard drive. |
Before removing or altering AOL you will need to decide what you want to do with the address book. AOL does NOT provide any way to easily move data from AOL to another e-mail application - that leaves you with two choices: |
- Print out your address book and then manually reenter all of the e-mail addresses.
- Send out an e-mail message to everyone on the address book giving the recipients your new e-mail address and ask them to respond. You can then add each recipients address to the address book as they respond.
Once you have the address book issue straightened out, it is time to remove AOL. There are several items which need to be removed. Below is the name of the item and the location. Go through them one at a time and trash each item. Remember that this COMPLETELY ELIMINATES AOL and you will lose any addresses and bookmarks. |
